The cleaning responsibilities at our facilities align with the National Standards of Cleaning 2021, which includes a variety of tasks such as General Cleaning Duties, Floor Maintenance, and Enhanced and Deep Cleaning of patient areas, clinics, and administrative offices. We are actively seeking individuals to join our Domestic Department, specifically for afternoon shifts in clinical settings.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday - Afternoon Shifts Only

13:00 - 19:00

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain cleanliness in wards, clinics, and offices to the highest standards.
  • Follow infection control policies and procedures diligently.
  • Previous cleaning experience is essential for all positions.
  • Perform cleaning duties in external areas across the trust.
  • Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to follow instructions and collaborate within a team or work independently. Physical fitness is required to perform tasks such as mopping, damp dusting, and lifting.

About Our Organization

Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust was established on 1 October 2019, following the merger of two prominent acute Trusts. This merger has created opportunities to reorganize services to provide optimal healthcare to the city and enhance the quality of care and health outcomes for our patients.

Qualifications

Essential

  • GCSE or equivalent qualification.

Knowledge

  • A fundamental understanding of the importance of cleanliness in a healthcare environment.
  • Basic knowledge of health and safety protocols.

Skills

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Capability to work effectively as part of a team.

Experience

Essential

  • Prior experience in a cleaning role.

Desirable

  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Familiarity with cleaning machinery and floor polishing equipment.
  • Knowledge of color coding systems for cleaning.
