Job Purpose

The primary responsibility is to ensure the efficient operation of the hospital's billing services and to perform essential financial processes in line with established protocols.

Additionally, the role involves providing timely and courteous information to patients, consultants, and other relevant departments.


Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all billing is processed promptly and accurately according to Spire procedures, identifying and resolving billing issues as necessary.
  • Follow up on billing inquiries in collaboration with Central Finance.
  • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain a high standard of confidentiality and exercise discretion regarding all patient, consultant, and staff information.
  • Manage patient information in compliance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
  • Generate daily and monthly reports and take appropriate actions based on specified instructions.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
  • Perform any other duties that reasonably fall within the scope of the position.
  • Adhere to organizational and local infection prevention and control policies.
  • Fulfill personal responsibilities as outlined by the Health and Safety Act 1974 and comply with local safety protocols.
Qualifications, Training, and Experience

Essential:
  • Good standard of secondary education with proven literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to process financial and administrative transactions accurately and methodically.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to build and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Strong focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Confident telephone manner with the ability to engage with a diverse range of customers.
Desirable:
  • Proven track record in a similar role within a busy office or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Understanding of the healthcare sector.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
