Role Overview

The primary objective is to ensure the efficient operation of the hospital's billing services and manage basic financial processes in accordance with established protocols.

You will be responsible for providing timely and courteous information to patients, consultants, and other relevant departments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all billing activities are executed promptly and accurately, adhering to Spire procedures, while identifying and resolving billing issues as necessary.
  • Address billing inquiries by coordinating with Central Finance as needed.
  • Foster and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Uphold a high standard of confidentiality and exercise discretion in handling all patient, consultant, and staff information.
  • Manage patient information in compliance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
  • Generate daily and monthly reports and act upon them according to specified guidelines.
  • Participate in training and development to enhance skills and knowledge required for the role.
  • Perform any additional duties that reasonably align with the general nature and level of responsibility of the position.
  • Comply with organizational and local infection prevention and control policies and procedures.
  • Fulfill personal responsibilities as outlined by the Health and Safety Act 1974 and adhere to local safety regulations.
Qualifications, Training, and Experience

Essential:
  • A solid educational background with demonstrable literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to process financial and administrative transactions accurately and methodically.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to build and sustain effective working relationships internally and externally.
  • Strong commitment to meeting customer expectations.
  • Confident telephone communication skills, able to engage with a diverse range of customers.
Desirable:
  • Proven track record in a similar role within a busy office or customer service environment.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.
  • Understanding of the healthcare sector.
  • Working knowledge of SAP.
