We are seeking a highly skilled Logistics Controller to join our team at New Appointments Group, a leading recruitment agency with a strong focus on diversity, equality, and opportunity for all.

The ideal candidate will have experience operating in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding and application of warehouse principles, practices, and standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Team Management: Ensure the store is manned with suitably qualified and experienced personnel to meet the expected outputs, through training, assigning, scheduling, planning, and disciplining of the team.
  2. Resource Coordination: Coordinate resource requests with other teams to ensure seamless operations.
  3. Inventory Control: Control material, consumables, and inventory of special project spares and associated clean room materials.
  4. Supply Chain Support: Assist the Supply Chain Manager with daily management tasks to ensure efficient operations.
  5. Continuous Improvement: Meet operational standards of performance by identifying continuous improvements and implementing changes.
  6. Compliance: Ensure that company policies and procedures are followed, including Export Controls & Dangerous Goods Controls.
  7. Inventory Management: Ensure received items are booked in and located correctly within timeframes.
  8. Kitting and Dispatch: Ensure that items are kitted for production in line with the production schedule and dispatched in a timely manner.
  9. Performance Monitoring: Demonstrate the stores department are meeting their objectives of performance through measurement and monitoring of Key KPIs.
  10. Stock Management: Ensure that inventory is managed using FIFO and utilize appropriate commodity management methods such as Kanban.
  11. Stock Take: Carry out a perpetual stock take to ensure that 100% of inventory is checked on an annual basis, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies.
  12. Warehouse Optimization: Maintain the warehouse through the best utilization of space to maximize efficiency.
  13. Equipment Maintenance: Ensure vehicles, plant, and equipment are maintained and available for use.
Essential Requirements:
  1. Education: GCSE Grade C or above in English and Maths.
  2. Experience: Experience of operating in a manufacturing environment.
  3. Export Control: Experience in Export control.
  4. Dangerous Goods: Experience in handling dangerous goods.
  5. Computer Literacy: Computer literate, with experience using ERP systems.
  6. Warehouse Knowledge: Demonstrate an understanding of warehouse methods, principles, concepts, practices, and standards.
  7. Health and Safety: Knowledge of current Health & Safety legislation.
  8. Environmental Legislation: Knowledge of current Environmental legislation.
  9. Communication Skills: Effective communicator, both written and orally.
  10. Time Management: Ability to plan, prioritize, and effectively manage time and meet deadlines.
