About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Advanced Research Assistant to join our team at the Wellcome Sanger Institute. As a key member of our Cellular Genetics programme, you will play a crucial role in advancing our understanding of human health and disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform wet laboratory work growing human-induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPS cells) and optimising the production of organoids.
  • Integrate pre-existing protocols, data from the literature, and predictions generated by the dry team to drive experimental design and execution.
  • Organise and carry out complex experimental work independently, with a focus on setting up in vitro organoid models from hiPS cells.
  • Closely coordinate with Staff Scientists leading these projects and work collaboratively with other members of the team and Cellular Operations facilities.
About You

We are looking for an individual with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, who is adaptable to the needs of tissue culture and extremely accurate due to the high cost of reagents and length of organoid differentiation protocols.

A particular interest in hematopoietic development is essential, and you should be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of this area.

What We Offer
