Position Overview

Are you an experienced nursing leader ready to take on a pivotal role in mental health care?

We are looking for a skilled and dedicated senior nurse to join our team within the Oxford and BSW Mental Health Directorate at Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust.

If you have a strong background in CAMHS and Eating Disorders inpatient services, this opportunity could be the next step in your professional journey.

In this role, you will oversee two Eating Disorder Units, two General Adolescent Units, and one CAMHS Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Success in this position requires ambition, a positive outlook, and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Main Responsibilities

You will collaborate closely with Modern Matrons leading their respective teams, as well as with Senior Matrons throughout the directorate and the Head of Service. Building effective working relationships across the organization and with partner agencies is essential.

Flexibility and responsiveness to service needs are crucial, as you will develop strong connections with various teams, including community adult and older adult services, as well as acute hospitals.

We seek a candidate who can demonstrate strong leadership and management capabilities, ensuring that the service meets the diverse needs of all individuals requiring inpatient care.

Education

Essential Qualifications

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN)

Desirable Qualifications

  • Advanced education such as a Master's degree or management training

Experience

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience in Adult Mental Health services
  • Proven experience in leading and developing mental health teams

Desirable Experience

  • Demonstrated involvement in co-production for service development

Skills

Essential Skills

  • Ability to lead on the integration of service development, theory, and practice
  • Capability to provide expert nursing advice to multidisciplinary teams
  • Commitment to promoting social inclusion for service users from diverse backgrounds

Desirable Skills

  • Proficiency in report writing and IT

All new employees will undergo a probationary period of six months, complemented by an induction process aimed at creating a supportive working environment. Candidates not currently employed by the Trust will be required to complete literacy and numeracy assessments during the interview process.
