Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Trust Full time

Position Overview

We are seeking an enthusiastic and visionary nursing leader to become part of our senior management team as a Lead Nurse. Collaborating with fellow nursing leaders, allied health professionals, and the management team, you will empower our clinical teams to deliver exceptional patient care.

The Oxford Health Community Rehabilitation Service operates across multiple inpatient wards situated within various community healthcare facilities in the region. Our services encompass bed-based rehabilitation, specialized post-stroke care, support for larger patients, end-of-life care, sub-acute medical treatment, and community admissions through ambulatory care units.

The ideal candidate will have the flexibility to work throughout the entire service while holding specific accountability for designated wards. We are looking for a leader who is passionate about this clinical setting, ambitious, innovative, and possesses strong clinical knowledge.

As the Lead Nurse, supported by the senior management team, you will take charge of quality and safety governance, ensure adequate staffing levels, oversee operational execution, and spearhead quality enhancement initiatives within the service. You will play a crucial role in collaborating with our system partners to create seamless care pathways throughout the patient's journey, available seven days a week.

This position will require some weekend and holiday work.

Drive initiatives to enhance patient experience and safety within community healthcare services, offering responsive leadership to ensure positive patient experiences and addressing any concerns regarding clinical standards. Collaborate with other nursing leaders and allied health professionals to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement across all inpatient settings. Offer clinical guidance and direction to staff in maintaining both clinical and non-clinical care standards while implementing service enhancements. This includes taking responsibility for driving improvements in care quality and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Work proactively with clinical and operational managers and staff to promote a culture of high performance regarding referral pathways and discharge processes. Engage with stakeholders to ensure that community healthcare services are fully developed to meet the needs of the local population. Act as a deputy for the Senior Nurse and Head of Service in key strategic meetings as necessary.
