Job Title: Band 6 Specialist Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Band 6 Specialist Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will play a central role in the management of patients with pleural disease, working closely with our Senior pleural specialist nurse to provide high-quality care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage patients with pleural disease in Accident & Emergency (A&E), Medical Assessment Unit (MAU), short stay wards, and other wards within the hospital.
  • Work in procedural units, including dedicated pleural rooms, to provide expert care and support to patients.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care pathways.
  • Provide education and training to healthcare professionals on pleural disease management and care.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to pleural disease management.
Requirements:
  • Adult Registered Nurse qualification.
  • Evidence of relevant post-qualification study at postgraduate level or equivalent knowledge.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience at Band 6 in a relevant setting.
  • Experience of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
