About the Role

Care in Mind is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Stubble Bank, a 6-bed residential service for young people aged 16-30 years old. As a Night Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting our young people with their daily living needs, including meal preparation, food shopping, and medication administration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support young people with their daily living needs, including meal preparation, food shopping, and medication administration.
  • Assist with prompting for self-care, medical appointments, and general upkeep of their home.
  • Encourage and support young people to engage in activities outside of the home, such as clothes shopping, swimming, meals out, and youth clubs.
  • Manage incidents and de-escalate challenging behaviors in a calm and professional manner.
  • Update online care records, complete medication administration, and provide effective handovers to the day staff.

Person Specification

  • Previous experience of working in a team and an understanding of the issues young people face.
  • Good written communication skills and the ability to write basic reports and record information accurately.
  • IT skills and the ability to write emails and use Microsoft office.
  • Able to work the night shift (including weekends, bank holidays, and occasional days for training).
