Job Title: Lead Data Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Data Scientist to join our team at esure Group. As a key member of our data science team, you will be responsible for leading the development of data-driven solutions to drive business growth and improve customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a high-performing data science team to deliver value-adding projects.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, encouraging team members to think creatively and push boundaries.
  • Analyse complex data sets to identify trends and insights that inform business decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement data-driven solutions that meet business needs.
  • Develop and maintain advanced statistical and machine learning models to drive business outcomes.
  • Provide expert mentorship and guidance to junior team members to help them grow and develop in their careers.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, applying this knowledge to drive business innovation.
Requirements:
  • 4+ years of experience as a Data Scientist in a commercial or R&D environment.
  • PhD or MSc in a relevant field (Machine Learning, Computer Science, Statistics) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-impact data science projects that drive business outcomes.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in leading high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with Python, SQL, and NoSQL databases, as well as Jupyter Notebooks and Git version control.
  • Familiarity with Spark/Databricks and experience deploying ML models via APIs (e.g., Flask, Keras).
