Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our team on a 6-month interim basis. As a Management Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting the Head of Finance with various accounting duties, including the production and reporting of financial statements, managing the technical finance requirements of our ERP accounting system, and assisting with the maintenance of projects and contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Head of Finance with the production and reporting of monthly, quarterly, and annual Management Account Packs, as well as statutory audit information.
  • Manage the technical finance requirements of our ERP accounting system, including maintaining GL accounts, managing integrations, and resolving any errors.
  • Assist with the maintenance of projects and contracts, including ensuring the integrity of revenue and margin reporting.
  • Assist with forward-looking financial processes, such as forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning.
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Maintain month-end reconciliations and post journals as needed, including fixed assets, inventory costs, journals, accruals, sales and bookings report, un-billed reconciliations, quarterly contract revenue report, and completion of schedules.
  • Prepare schedules for annual audit.
  • Run the month-end revenue recognition routines every Friday and also through the month to check performance to date.
  • Overall management of the ERP accounting system, including pulling through of opening balances for new financial year, maintaining GL accounts, managing integrations, and resolving any errors.
  • Active involvement in all project budget review cycles and maintaining the systems with the correct budgets.
  • Maintain the capex tracker of actual and forecast spend vs budget.
  • Assist with preparation of monthly and quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, etc.
  • Assist with any other ad-hoc financial duties as requested by the Management Team.

Requirements:

  • Part Qualified or Finalist or Qualified, or Qualified by Experience.
  • Experience in using an ERP system in a manufacturing environment potentially.
  • Experience of Long Term Contract Accounting and Inventory an advantage.
  • Intermediate/Advanced level user of Excel.
  • Good attention to detail and happy to deal with all technical aspects of an ERP system, whilst also recommending any adjustments.
  • Ability to communicate with staff from all levels within the business and with the US sites also.
  • Be available at short notice to start the role - or ideally by mid-October and be able to commit to a 6-month role.
