About Ambient Support:
Ambient Support is a registered charity in the UK with over 25 years of experience in delivering care and support services for older individuals, those with mental health challenges, and people with learning disabilities. Our team in Bromley is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Care Assistant to assist 10 Respite service users with complex learning disabilities.

Key Responsibilities of the Support Care Assistant:
  • Providing emotional and social support, either in the home or within the local community.
  • Assisting residents with personal care, including hygiene needs when necessary.
  • Helping with shopping and supporting budgeting activities.
  • Fostering and maintaining relationships with the friends and family of our service users.
  • Performing household tasks such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.
  • Engaging in outings for walks, meals, and other activities that supported individuals may wish to experience.

Essential Skills and Attributes:
  • Experience in supporting adults with learning disabilities, including Autism, is preferred, but we encourage applications from those with limited experience as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • A calm, caring demeanor with a positive attitude is essential.
  • Empathy, sensitivity, and understanding of the needs of others.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • A driving license is desirable but not mandatory.
