Sanctuary Supported Living is excited to announce an opportunity for a Culinary Specialist at our Older People Scheme.

While the position is referred to as Culinary Specialist, it may also be recognized by titles such as Line Cook, Chef de Partie, or Commis Chef.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing a high-quality and adaptable catering service that meets the diverse needs of our customers, including those with specific dietary requirements.
  • Overseeing the food and labor budget through effective rota planning, procurement, and management of food supplies to ensure that menu offerings are delivered within budgetary constraints.
  • Handling order receipts, managing food stock locations, conducting audits, and maintaining accurate weekly labor entries and daily cash records.
  • Implementing and managing the Food Safety Management System, ensuring the team is well-informed and compliant.
  • Coordinating cleaning and maintenance schedules for all food service areas and kitchen equipment to uphold high sanitation and safety standards.
  • Conducting risk assessments and ensuring the kitchen is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Assisting in the supervision and development of kitchen staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a catering environment is essential, along with a background in preparing meals for diverse groups.
  • A Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality is required.
  • A valid Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is necessary.
  • Familiarity with online catering management software is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations is essential.
  • Experience in budget setting and management is preferred.
  • A friendly and approachable demeanor with the ability to engage effectively with customers, visitors, and colleagues.
