Sanctuary Supported Living is excited to announce an opportunity for a Culinary Specialist within our Older People Scheme.

While the position is referred to as Culinary Specialist, it may also be known as Chef, Line Cook, or Cook.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a high-quality and adaptable catering service tailored to meet the diverse dietary needs of our clients.
  • Oversee food and labor budgets through meticulous planning, purchasing, and inventory management to ensure efficient kitchen operations.
  • Handle order processing, stock management, and financial record-keeping within designated timelines.
  • Implement and manage the Food Safety Management System, ensuring team compliance and understanding.
  • Schedule and conduct cleaning and maintenance routines for all food service areas and kitchen equipment to uphold sanitation and safety standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen environment.
  • Assist in supervising and developing kitchen staff.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Demonstrated experience in a catering environment, particularly in preparing meals for various groups.
  • Possession of a Level 2 Diploma in Catering and Hospitality is required.
  • A valid Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is essential.
  • Familiarity with online catering management software.
  • Strong understanding of health and safety regulations.
  • Experience in budget management is advantageous.
  • A friendly demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills to engage with customers and colleagues.
