Core Responsibilities for the Portfolio

Ongoing Portfolio Monitoring and Analysis:


• Continuously oversee the progression of individual portfolio transactions, conduct Market/Sector research and analysis, and keep management and clients informed of any significant developments on a portfolio of primarily performing loans.


• Conduct regular (at least annual) assessments of key risks, including financial risk, operational risk, counterparty risk, regulatory risk, and market risk as applicable.


• Prepare comprehensive and succinct internal credit documentation (credit reviews, waivers/amendments) in accordance with established formats and timelines for review by the line manager to secure necessary client approvals throughout the loan lifecycle.


• Collaborate with the line manager and relevant stakeholders to ensure a seamless credit process.


• Demonstrate the ability to manage workflows proactively and independently.


• Review and update cash flow models (including base case and downside/stress case scenarios) to evaluate future performance and associated risks.


• Prepare internal ratings in line with applicable guidelines, where relevant.


• Compile client off-color and watch-list reports discussing trends, remedies, progress, future loan amendments, and provide insights regarding potential exit strategies, where applicable.


• Analyze, evaluate, and comment on drawdown requests and transaction-related financial, technical, and legal reports provided by borrowers and/or advisors as necessary.


• Ensure timely tracking of covenants with adequate documentation in the relevant systems.


• Ensure prompt closure of conditions/tasks.


• Engage in discussions/negotiations regarding various waiver requests, early repayments, and restructurings with borrowers, agents, and other external/internal parties.


• Attend site visits and borrower meetings as required.


• Where necessary, negotiate essential credit and collateral documentation, ensuring that all required documentation and decisions are accurately prepared, communicated, and processed.


• Maintain electronic credit files for respective transactions, ensuring key documents are saved prior to submission of approval requests.

Surveillance and Reporting:


• Contribute to regular and ad hoc reporting requests from firm management, clients, and auditors regarding the portfolio, sector, and specific transactions.


• Provide input to the firm's internal reports (e.g., internal surveillance lists, etc.).

Other Responsibilities:


• Offer guidance to other team members as needed.


• Provide support to colleagues in the Loan Management team overseeing a substantial portfolio of loans.


• Proactively and effectively liaise with various client departments for the respective portfolio.


• Consider relevant regulatory requirements and client guidelines.


• Undertake other duties as assigned from time to time.

New Business Development:


• Assist in marketing initiatives as required (e.g., preparation of presentation materials, scope definitions, Request for Proposals, capacity calculations, etc.).


• Monitor the market for potential service opportunities.


• Contribute to proactive proposals for new business where applicable.


• Collaborate with other areas of the firm to support business development initiatives.

Third Party Portfolio Management:


• Provide services related to third-party client portfolios as detailed under future service level agreements.

Skills and Competencies:


• Proven experience in a related credit/risk/asset management environment, particularly in infrastructure and energy project finance.


• Strong understanding of project and corporate finance, with a solid background in credit risk drivers and risks inherent in respective borrower industry sectors.


• Excellent analytical and technical skills, with the ability to comprehend complex loan documentation and financing structures, and convey technical concepts to both practitioners and third parties.


• Comfortable in a client-facing role, with the ability to confidently present recommendations to credit committees and investors.


• Ability to represent the firm and its clients, articulating, negotiating, and implementing decisions, strategies, and documentation.


• Strong organizational and time management skills, with a hands-on approach and attention to detail.


• Proficient writing skills, capable of producing robust, concise, and insightful decision papers.


• Team player with the ability to work in a multicultural and international environment.


• Adaptable to changing business and client requirements.


• Capable of working independently and meeting client deliverable deadlines.


• High level of proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and/or other data processing and analysis tools.
