About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Secretary. As a key member of our practice team, you will provide administrative support to our GP Partners, clinical team, and act as a point of contact for external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Typing referral letters and associated correspondence for all doctors, ensuring urgent letters are dealt with in order of priority and in accordance with the practice referral procedure.
Processing referrals through the electronic referral system (ERS) and dealing with any associated queries.
Managing the ERS workflow, ensuring tasks are actioned and dealt with in a timely manner.
Providing support to clinicians with dictation software and dealing with any problems that may arise.
Liaising with external agencies, such as hospitals and community services, to ensure referrals are processed efficiently.
Actioning tasks and/or emails in a prompt manner.
Answering incoming phone calls relating to referrals and hospital secretaries, dealing with the caller's request appropriately.
Processing and recording information regarding private fee work.
