Our projects vary in scale, ranging from £5k to £15m, where we serve as both Principal Contractor and Principal Designer, while also supporting our esteemed Tier 1 contractor clients in subcontractor and off-site manufacturing roles.

The Role

This position entails a standard workweek of 40 hours, Monday to Friday, with overtime compensated accordingly. Travel time will be reimbursed in addition to contracted hours.

We are expanding our team to accommodate the increased workload in the Midlands, particularly within the water industry frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee mechanical installations, ensuring adherence to the highest standards.
  • Implement and advocate for the STAR dynamic risk assessment.
  • Mentor and coach Mechanical Fitters, Mates, and Apprentices.
  • Exemplify and promote Bridges' core values in interactions with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Encourage a culture of health and well-being among peers.

Candidate Requirements

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, proactive, and possess experience in reactive work within industrial civil sites, particularly in upgrading critical assets such as Pumping Station Refurbishments and Steelwork Fabrication.

Essential qualifications include:

  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Supervisor.
  • Background in the Water or Industrial sector.
  • SSSTS / SMSTS certification (mandatory).
  • Relevant City & Guilds trade qualification.
  • CSCS & CCNSG certification (or equivalent).
  • Fitness to work medical clearance.

Desirable qualifications include:

  • PASMA certification.
  • IPAF certification.
  • Confined space training.
  • Authorization to Pressure Test (Bridges).
  • Emergency first aid training.
  • EUSR certification.
