Senior Social Worker

We are seeking an experienced Senior Social Worker to join our Centralised Safeguarding Triage Team as a Locum Senior Social Worker. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a new innovative approach to safeguarding in Essex County Council.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a complex caseload and provide specialist advice to colleagues.
- Contribute to the development of practice standards and our four key principles of prevention, early intervention, enablement, and safeguarding.
- Work collaboratively across the Council, with partners, and statutory and voluntary agencies to ensure a joined-up approach.
- Take part in case conferences, court attendance, meetings, and statutory reviews, taking the lead when a social care perspective is required.
To be successful in this role, you will be a qualified social worker with current Social Work England registration and at least 2 years of post-qualified experience in Adults safeguarding. You will have a proven record of working complex cases and supporting other staff members. You will also have a comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about demonstrating expert and effective practice in complex situations, and who is able to mentor both newly qualified and experienced team members. You will also have the ability to make clear decisions, highlight and limit potential risks associated with intervention, and have subject matter expertise in Safeguarding.
