About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Social Worker to join our team at Essex County Council, working with adults and their families who have complex social needs and are more vulnerable due to disability, exclusion, or diminished capacity.

As a Social Worker, you will be responsible for maximising the potential of adults to live independently, ensuring their safety and well-being, and providing specialist advice as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of complex adult cases, assessing risk and implementing purposeful interventions through direct work, commissioned services, and review.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner agencies, and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
  • Develop strong relationships with clients, family members, carers, and other professionals to ensure effective support and outcomes.
  • Contribute to the development of strong, effective relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of strategies to improve the lives of vulnerable adults, working collaboratively with colleagues and partner agencies.
Requirements
  • Qualified Social Worker with a current Social Work England registration.
  • At least 1 year's social work experience, with evidence of continuing professional development and capability of practice in accordance with current professional standards.
  • Significant experience of social work, modelling good practice, and providing advice and guidance in complex situations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current legislation, regulations, and guidance.
  • Ability to develop strong relationships with partner agencies and the local community to provide a supportive framework for vulnerable adults.
