Job Summary
GSL Education is seeking a dedicated Behaviour Mentor to join our family of schools in Hull. As a Behaviour Mentor, you will play a crucial role in supporting students, helping them overcome barriers to learning and promoting positive behaviour.
Key Responsibilities
- Support students on a one-to-one or small group basis to improve behaviour and engagement.
- Work collaboratively with teachers to implement behaviour strategies and interventions.
- Build positive relationships with students to foster trust and mutual respect.
- Monitor and report on student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary.
- Assist in the development of personalised support plans for students with challenging behaviour.
- Encourage and motivate students to develop self-confidence and a positive attitude towards learning.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with children or young people, ideally in a school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, resilience, and a positive outlook.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly and effectively.
- A genuine passion for supporting students and making a difference in their lives.
- Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of the school environment.
- Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
