Ipswich, Suffolk, United Kingdom FareShare Full time

Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator

Reporting to: Regional Manager

Location: Ipswich

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Salary: £23,620 – £24,329

We encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds. We are a Disability Confident Employer that welcomes disabled applicants and provides reasonable adjustments.

About FareShare

FareShare operates as the UK's national network of charitable food redistributors, comprising 18 independent organizations. Our mission is to redirect high-quality surplus food from across the food industry to nearly 9,500 frontline charities and community groups.

The food we distribute is nutritious and safe for consumption, reaching various charities throughout the UK, including school breakfast programs, lunch clubs for the elderly, shelters for the homeless, and community cafes. Each week, we facilitate the provision of enough food to create almost a million meals for those in need.

With over three million tonnes of food wasted annually in the UK—equivalent to 7 billion meals—FareShare is committed to addressing food insecurity exacerbated by the cost-of-living crisis through the effective use of surplus food.

We are privileged to receive support from major retailers, media outlets, sports ambassadors, and a growing public engagement, making this an exciting time to join an organization that is central to public awareness.

FareShare's Vision & Strategy

Vision: A UK where "No good food goes to waste."

Mission: To utilize surplus, consumable food to nourish vulnerable individuals in the UK by supporting frontline charitable organizations that address the root causes of food poverty.

Our Purpose: We are proactive. We are a community. We transform lives.

Our Values:

  • Passion: For our mission and the challenges ahead.
  • Ambition: To exceed expectations and drive necessary change.
  • Respect: For ourselves, each other, our volunteers, partners, and beneficiaries.
