Position Overview

We are excited to present an opportunity for a skilled HR professional to join our esteemed client as an HR Case Specialist. This role is primarily office-based, with the possibility of a hybrid working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a CIPD level 7 qualification and demonstrate a solid history of managing a variety of intricate HR cases. A thorough and current understanding of UK employment law and its implications for organizations is essential.

  • Deliver a professional and proactive HR advisory service, both via telephone and in writing, to managers across all levels of the organization.
  • Manage serious conduct issues, capability concerns, employee grievances, and employee relations challenges, including overseeing suspensions and investigations.
  • Provide ongoing support to managers in the daily management of complex employment matters, while considering the business's commercial constraints and legal framework.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to build effective relationships with broader stakeholders.
  • Act as the HR lead on intricate personnel matters, including hearings and appeals.
  • Ensure adherence to best employment practices by offering clear guidance aligned with the organization's HR policies and procedures.
  • Adopt a practical approach to problem-solving, recognizing legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Seize opportunities to coach managers on effective people management, including communication, decision-making, fairness, and consistency.
  • Maintain accurate records of case management details in the Case Management System, ensuring proactive management of cases to resolution.
  • Work in partnership with field-based Case Manager colleagues to ensure a consistent approach and application of precedents.
  • Manage diaries accurately and efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and legislative processes.
  • Conduct risk analysis to meet service level agreements and effectively address people-related issues with appropriate support.
  • Complete case management administration accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Exhibit confident communication skills with individuals at all levels, maintaining a clear, engaging, and collaborative style, especially during challenging situations.
  • Demonstrate experience in applying a commercial and pragmatic approach to HR risk-based solutions in difficult scenarios.
  • Exhibit flexibility and agility in meeting deadlines and responding constructively to feedback.
  • Show evidence of building capability within a coaching framework, alongside strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
