Role Overview

The Operations Assistant will play a vital role within the Underwriting Operations department, collaborating closely with the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders to enhance service standards and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders in refining reporting capabilities and generating comprehensive reports for management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Act as a primary contact for post-bind inquiries, ensuring accurate performance and reporting of Credit Control, Financial, and system reconciliations.
  • Support the team in delivering operational excellence in Credit Control, Delegated Authority, and Underwriting administration.
  • Facilitate the processing of technical queries, ensuring timely communication through appropriate channels.
  • Contribute to the month-end closing process, ensuring all tasks are executed accurately and punctually.
  • Collaborate with the Underwriting Operations Team Leaders and the Central Operational Services (COS) Manager on operational and organization-wide initiatives.
  • Engage with key stakeholders to continuously enhance team service in alignment with defined Service Level Agreements.
  • Work alongside the broader Operations management team to develop and implement transformation initiatives aimed at improving team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Support business process transformation efforts to enhance efficiency across departmental and organizational processes.
  • Participate in relevant groups and committees to report on team performance and collaborate with the wider operations management team.
  • Assist Operations department members with regulatory reporting, query resolution, and other necessary tasks.
  • Immediately report any suspicions of financial crime to the Money Laundering Reporting Officer.
  • Operate in accordance with the Company's standards for Treating Customers Fairly.
  • Manage potential conflicts of interest to uphold the company's integrity.
  • Assist with various operational matters for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Commit to ongoing development of technical knowledge and understanding.
  • Maintain positive and effective relationships with all business units, market contacts, and regulators.
  • Proactively address and rectify errors.
  • Support the management, implementation, and review of operational best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and regulatory policies and procedures.

This position is ideal for candidates with experience in General Insurance or the London Market who are eager to advance in an operations role.
