Position Overview

Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) following the promotion of the current incumbent. This critical position reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer and plays a vital role within the executive leadership team, overseeing the operational finance department and facilitating the achievement of the Trust's strategic objectives aimed at enhancing quality, efficiency, and effectiveness. The CFO also serves as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Key Responsibilities

The Chief Financial Officer will be accountable for all facets of financial governance within the Trust, including the formulation and execution of financial strategies, cash management, risk assessment, and investment evaluation.

Leading a proficient finance team, you will foster a culture of performance enhancement and drive sustainable transformation.

Specific responsibilities include:

  • Providing strategic and operational oversight for financial management across the organization.
  • Establishing financial goals for the Trust that align with board expectations and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring robust financial management practices, accurate financial reporting, and effective budget oversight.
  • Delivering comprehensive financial services, including the preparation of annual accounts for statutory and regulatory compliance.
  • Collaborating with Divisional Leadership Teams and Heads of Finance to ensure high-quality business partnering services.
  • Aligning the Trust's financial strategies with those of the Integrated Care System (ICS) and representing the Trust in ICS meetings.
  • Acting as a representative of the Chief Executive Officer in executive meetings as necessary.
