Job Description

The University of Oxford is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer to join its senior team. This exciting opportunity will provide a key member of the Department's leadership team with the chance to make a significant impact on the University's financial strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis, including budgeting and forecasting, to ensure the University's financial goals are met.
  • Provide expert advice and management information to members of the Department on a wide range of financial issues.
  • Drive forward and deliver strategic project work to improve the University's financial performance.
  • Ensure a high quality of service is provided to all members of the University by the teams for which you are responsible.

Requirements:

  • Education to degree level or equivalent.
  • Recognised professional accountancy qualification, such as ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or CIPFA.
  • Demonstrable experience in a large, complex accounting environment.
  • Proven leadership, management, and technical accounting skills.
  • Experience of working in the Higher Education sector in a research-intensive organisation is desirable.

Working Arrangements:

The post is full-time, but consideration will be given to candidates wishing to work part-time (minimum 80% FTE) on a pro rata basis.
