About the Role:
South East London Mind is seeking a skilled and compassionate LGBTQIA+ Peer Support Group Facilitator to join our team. As a facilitator, you will play a vital role in establishing a safe and welcoming space for individuals from the LGBTQIA+ community who may be experiencing mental health challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain a safe and supportive environment for group members
- Support group members in their recovery by encouraging shared learning and social networks
- Work collaboratively with a volunteer co-facilitator to ensure the smooth operation of the service
- Manage the service email inbox and database, including answering queries and processing referrals
- Monitor the waiting list and maintain accurate records of member and service data
Requirements:
- Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check
- Ability to work collaboratively with a volunteer co-facilitator
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to data protection policies
