Apprentice Commis Chef

Shepherd Neame is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Apprentice Commis Chef. This exciting opportunity will provide the successful candidate with the chance to develop their culinary skills and knowledge in a fast-paced and dynamic kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist in food preparation, cooking, and presentation to specification
- Maintain good food hygiene practices and ensure a clean and organized kitchen environment
- Participate in training and development programmes to enhance skills and knowledge
- Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver high-quality dishes and exceptional customer service

The Commis Chef Academy programme will provide the successful candidate with the opportunity to learn and develop their skills in a supportive and structured environment. This will include workshops, masterclasses, and one-to-one coaching sessions to enhance knowledge and understanding of key areas such as preparation and cooking, flavour profiling, dish composition, and seasonality.
What We're Looking For:- A minimum of 6 hours per week in paid hours to complete off-the-job training
- Availability to attend training at the Chef Academy roughly every four to six weeks
- A commitment to developing and progressing within the company
Once you have successfully completed this level 2 apprenticeship, you may be able to progress into a Senior Production or Chef De Partie role. Shepherd Neame is an authentic, independent business that values its employees and provides opportunities for growth and development.
