We are seeking a committed individual to join our Cardiology Division, playing a vital role in delivering outstanding support to patients utilizing services within our organization.

This role offers a unique chance to work within a specialized team of Cardiology Secretaries and Administrative Professionals, providing essential clerical and administrative assistance to our medical staff.

Key Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility will be to deliver thorough organizational and administrative support to the Consultant team, while also liaising with parents, guardians, and external organizations.

The position entails offering administrative assistance to the team, including the transcription of clinic and administrative correspondence. Additionally, you will handle phone inquiries, which may be sensitive, from patients and external entities, ensuring that pertinent information is communicated to the appropriate medical personnel.

We are committed to excellence in patient support services, and in this role, you will help foster effective and efficient relationships among clinical teams, clients, and administrative services.

Utilizing your initiative is crucial. You will understand the importance of maintaining complete confidentiality concerning Data Protection in relation to patient information and the welfare and treatment of both patients and staff at all times.

You will be a collaborative team member, possess exceptional communication abilities, and demonstrate proficiency in typing and IT skills.

Qualifications

Essential

  • A minimum of 3 GCSEs or equivalent, including English, at Grade C or above.
  • Proven working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.

Desirable

  • RSA II audio typing or equivalent qualification.
  • ECDL certification.
  • Qualification in medical terminology.
  • NVQ Level 2 in Administration and Clerical.

Experience

Essential

  • Recent experience in a clerical or administrative capacity.

Desirable

  • Familiarity with iCS systems.
  • Previous experience in a hospital or NHS setting.
  • Secretarial experience.

Knowledge

Essential

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Accurate touch typing skills.

Desirable

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Word for Windows, and internet/web skills.
