Meeting & Events Operations Team Lead

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Meeting & Events Operations Supervisor to join our team at Leonardo Royal Hotel Southampton Grand Harbour. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth delivery of our meeting and events services.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise the activities of the Meeting & Events Operations team, ensuring they are aware of their responsibilities and performing duties to a high standard.
- Be familiar with the day's business, restaurant, and conference bookings to prepare the team and department for action.
- Serve food and drinks and provide excellent customer service, being a role model to the team and demonstrating great hospitality.
- Have a visible presence within the hotel to ensure that all customer requests and queries are responded to promptly and effectively.
- Deal with guest complaints in a friendly and efficient manner, ensuring guest satisfaction at all times.
- Train and motivate team members.
- Ensure all cash, charge, float, and till procedures are carried out correctly.
Requirements
- Supervisory experience or strong Meeting & Events team member looking to take on additional responsibility.
- Great communication skills to chat to guests and team members.
- Flexibility to work different shift patterns and see the operation on different days of the week, including weekends and mornings or evenings.
- The ability to recognize what our customers want and need and provide it.
- Good people skills to work well in a team and have fun while working hard.
- A genuine interest in providing hospitality to our customers.
- Confidence with systems and taking payments.
- The ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
