Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled professional to lead our Valuation Services team at Evelyn Partners. This pivotal role involves the preparation of diverse valuations for various purposes, including financial reporting, taxation, and commercial transactions. The successful candidate will engage in both contentious and non-contentious valuation scenarios, covering business and share valuations, as well as intangible asset assessments and incentive scheme evaluations.

Key Responsibilities

Client Engagement

  • Deliver exceptional client service consistently, prioritizing the customer experience across the team.
  • Aim to achieve the highest standards of advisory excellence.
  • Manage and nurture client relationships effectively.
  • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of advisory services.

Valuation Expertise

  • Define and communicate project scopes clearly.
  • Develop and manage project budgets.
  • Oversee technical work and valuation projects.
  • Draft and review comprehensive valuation reports.
  • Create and refine valuation models.
  • Conduct research on industry trends and comparable transactions.

Business Development

  • Enhance the firm's reputation both internally and externally.
  • Contribute to strategic business initiatives that prioritize client needs and ensure commercial viability.
  • Support the Head of Department in public relations efforts within your area of expertise.
  • Encourage cross-selling opportunities within the organization.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients.

Quality Assurance and Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to internal procedures to mitigate risk exposure.
  • Comply with the firm's compliance manual and relevant operational guidelines.
  • Maintain and enhance personal technical proficiency.
  • Report any client complaints or potential issues in accordance with established procedures.

Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and manage chargeable hours, utilization rates, recoveries, work in progress, billing, and cash flow for the team.
  • Ensure timely submission of time records by you and your team.
  • Conduct regular financial performance assessments with direct reports regarding client portfolios.
  • Promptly inform the Head of Department of any significant financial concerns.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Exhibit effective leadership qualities aligned with the Exceptional Leader framework.
  • Oversee daily management of direct reports.
  • Conduct annual performance reviews for team members.
  • Mentor and cultivate talent in line with the firm's talent development initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of technical and professional competence within the team.
  • Foster strong management and leadership skills among direct reports.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
  • Relevant professional qualifications, such as chartered accountant status, are advantageous.
  • In-depth knowledge of valuation methodologies and modeling across various sectors.
  • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint for valuation model creation and report preparation.
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management.
  • Ability to establish industry contacts and a willingness to cultivate these relationships.
