This is a full-time, permanent role, offering a competitive salary ranging from £24,872 to £43,440 per annum, inclusive of London Weighting.

Role Overview:

As a Instructor - BTEC & Science Access, you will be responsible for teaching and evaluating students across various courses offered by the curriculum area. You will also play a vital role in enhancing both existing and new educational offerings, focusing on innovative and flexible teaching methods that engage learners effectively.

Qualifications and Skills Required:

  • A level 3 teaching qualification or actively pursuing an FE teaching qualification.
  • A minimum of a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in a relevant discipline such as Humanities, Science, Social Science, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Social Work, Youth and Community Work, Health, or Law.
  • Proficiency in the three core areas of science, complemented by relevant qualifications.
  • Practical experience in the pertinent fields.
  • Possession of TAQA 3/4 or A1/V1 assessor and IQA qualifications is advantageous.
  • A degree in a relevant field would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop lesson plans, including comprehensive schemes of work.
  • Create and implement learner-focused assessment strategies, emphasizing constructive feedback for student development.
  • Monitor and report on student attendance, progress, and achievements.
  • Ensure a safe learning environment for all students and colleagues, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Provide personal coaching and pastoral support to designated students to aid their development and future opportunities.
  • Stay updated on industry advancements in your specialty to maintain the relevance and employability of our students.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to educational theory and practice.
