Job Title: Research Associate - Laboratory Technician
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Research Associate - Laboratory Technician to join our team at Gray & Associates Recruitment Services. As a Research Associate - Laboratory Technician, you will play a key role in supporting our scientific research activities, working closely with our team of experts to conduct experiments, collect data, and analyze results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and implementation of experiments with insects, including mosquitoes and other insects in the laboratory.
- Assist with insectary work, including rearing mosquitoes and other insects as required.
- Source materials and equipment for experiments.
- Perform general laboratory duties, including preparation of chemicals.
- Assist with the safe and accurate conduct of projects according to quality standards.
- Assist with other administrative and research activities as required.
Requirements:
- Good technical laboratory skills relevant to the role, including experience of working with insects.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is essential, Master's would be preferred.
- Ability to carry out accurate scientific experiments.
- Ability to cope with the physical demands of the role, including manual handling tasks and a flexible approach to working.
- Experience in laboratory technical support work in a Higher Education / Research setting.
- Competence in laboratory safety, preferably within the Higher Education / Research sectors.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Good IT skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrable interest in science.
