We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Academic Instructor to join our team at Barking & Dagenham College. As a Science Educator, you will be responsible for teaching and assessing students on our BTEC & Access to Science courses.

• Teaching and Assessment: Deliver high-quality teaching and assessment to students on our BTEC & Access to Science courses, ensuring they meet the required standards.
• Course Development: Contribute to the development of new and innovative courses, including the implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies.
• Student Support: Provide pastoral support and guidance to students, helping them to achieve their academic goals.
• Industry Links: Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners to ensure our courses remain relevant and up-to-date.
• Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry developments and best practices in education.

• Qualifications: Hold a level 3 teaching qualification or be working towards an FE teaching qualification.
• Experience: Have a minimum of a Level 3 NVQ or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject, such as Humanities, Science, Social Science, Psychology, Sociology, Nursing, Social Work, Youth and Community Work, Health, or Law.
• Industry Experience: Have experience in the 3 key areas of science, along with the relevant qualifications.
• Assessment and IQA Qualifications: Hold a TAQA 3/4 or A1/V1 assessor and IQA qualifications.
• Desirable Qualifications: Hold a degree in a relevant subject.
