About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Polaris Community. As a key member of our fostering team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support foster carers to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Monitor the suitability and competence of foster carers, ensuring they meet the required standards.
  • Provide regular supervision to foster carers, addressing any needs or concerns.
  • Work in partnership with foster carers, children, and young people to identify and address any needs or challenges.
  • Ensure compliance with key documentation and policies.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports to Commissioning Teams.
  • Promote participation of children and young people in the development of the agency and their local community.
Requirements
  • Social Work qualification and valid registration.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Ability to travel extensively and transport children and young people in stressful situations.
  • Full driving licence.
