As a Senior/Supervising Social Worker, you will play a critical role in supporting foster carers and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support foster carers and their families to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Monitor the continued suitability and competence of Foster carers, ensuring they meet the standards expected.
  • Provide regular supervision to allocated foster carers, working in partnership to identify needs and develop solutions.
  • Ensure each child and foster carer are fully compliant with key documentation.
  • Attend meetings and provide reports for Commissioning Teams to address individual packages of care.
  • Promote participation of children and young people in the development of the agency and in accessing resources and opportunities in their local community.

Requirements:

  • A Social Work qualification
  • Valid Social Work Registration or equivalent
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing
  • A comprehensive working knowledge of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures
  • The willingness and ability to travel extensively, including occasional nights away
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in sometimes stressful/difficult situations
  • Full driving licence
