About the Role:
VSA is a well-respected local social care charity, helping support the people of Aberdeen for over 150 years. Our mission is to provide the best of care to enable the best of lives; supporting individuals and communities to fulfil their potential.
We are looking for a motivated and compassionate Service Manager to join our team at VSA@Home. As a Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing a professional, caring, and effective service to our service users to ensure they receive the best of care.
Main Responsibilities:
- Developing and using systems to communicate, record, and report; ensuring that records are updated accurately and reports are produced when required.
- Overseeing the communication systems and processes needed to enhance and develop the work of staff teams and address the needs of service users.
- Developing, maintaining, and evaluating systems to promote the rights and responsibilities of service users.
- Ensuring that practices are in place to encourage and facilitate service users to participate in social activities, develop social networks, access services and facilities, and to live as independently as possible.
- Developing and maintaining healthy and safe practices in the work place through the effective implementation and monitoring of risk assessment procedures.
Requirements:
- Registration with SSSC
- SVQ in Social Services and Healthcare SCQF Level 9 or BA (Hons) in Health and Social care or Equivalent
- SVQ in Care Services Leadership and Management SCQF Level 10 or Equivalent
Key Skills/Aptitudes:
- Evidence of good communication skills- both verbal and written.
- IT skills e.g. emails
- Ability to write comprehensive reports
- Good interpersonal skills
- Evidence of ability to manage and motivate staff
