Job Overview

**Key Purpose of Role**

The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating, executing, and analyzing potential investment opportunities, as well as monitoring and analyzing the financial performance of ISTARI's portfolio companies.

**Key Accountabilities**

  • Evaluate and execute investment opportunities, presenting findings to senior stakeholders.
  • Lead key work-streams in support of investment-related business development and evaluation efforts.

**Portfolio Performance Monitoring**

  • Develop a deep understanding of the financial performance of ISTARI portfolio companies by maintaining and updating financial models, analyzing key drivers of performance, and tracking performance vs plan.
  • Engage with external valuators for annual valuation of the portfolio and new investments.
  • Support the CIO and key stakeholders in identifying and executing performance enhancement initiatives.
  • Drive valuation processes for portfolio companies, working with management teams, ISTARI teams, and Temasek.
  • Collaborate with portfolio management teams on finance projects as needed.
  • Ensure Temasek is updated on ISTARI and ISTARI portfolio company performance.

**Ideal Candidate Profile**

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of work experience, with a minimum of 3-4 years in corporate finance gained through private equity, investment banking, and/or management consulting with a focus on finance.

**Key Skills**

  • Strong financial modeling skills, familiarity with financial statement analysis, and accounting and finance fundamentals.
  • Ability to work independently to analyze, interrogate, and manipulate financial forecasts at both the portfolio company and ISTARI level.
  • High degree of commercial acumen, able to assess financial information against strategic priorities, operational realities, and ISTARI's investment thesis.
  • High degree of comfort presenting and interacting with senior stakeholders across organizations.
  • Able to work cross-culturally in fast-paced, unstructured team environments.
