Sovereign Credit Analyst and Portfolio Specialist

Role Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled EMEA Economist and Portfolio Strategist to join our team at Portfolio Verlag. As a key member of our portfolio management team, you will be responsible for conducting research and analysis to inform investment decisions and develop strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth research on regional economic trends and developments, including macroeconomic variables, inflation, growth, and balance of payments information.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of sovereign credit markets, including quasi-sovereigns and local government bond markets.
- Collaborate with portfolio managers, analysts, and account managers to develop and implement investment strategies.
- Conduct thorough scenario analysis, including stress testing assumptions against market consensus.
- Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the industry, including sell-side and buy-side firms.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years' experience in regional economics.
- Masters or PhD in Economics or Finance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and recommendations to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.
