About the Role

**Job Summary**

PIC is seeking a highly skilled Credit Research Analyst to join its Investment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting thorough analysis of public sector entities, including sovereigns, local authorities, and universities, to inform investment decisions and optimise PIC's investment strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • **Conduct Credit Analysis**: Conduct thorough analysis of assigned portfolios of public sector entities, including sovereigns, local authorities, and universities, to identify potential investment opportunities and risks.
  • **Develop Credit Opinions**: Develop and maintain up-to-date credit opinions on all borrowers and key potential borrowers in the sector, ensuring PIC has a comprehensive view of the credit landscape.
  • **Prepare Investment Recommendations**: Prepare internal rating recommendations that effectively communicate credit views to stakeholders, including succinct summaries for committees and detailed analysis for first-line colleagues.
  • **Collaborate with Stakeholders**: Collaborate with portfolio management, trading, and asset/liability colleagues to make and execute investment decisions, ensuring seamless integration and optimal investment outcomes.
Requirements
  • **Technical Skills**: Knowledge of public finance and its various sub-sectors, established knowledge of financial reporting and key rating metrics, and strong Bloomberg skills.
  • **Personal Qualities**: Ability to persuade and influence, conceptualise and lead others in solving specific problems, and organise work to meet deadlines.
  • **Professional Qualifications**: Recognised qualification and/or accreditation to a professional body in the relevant field/industry/sector, such as the CFA qualification.
