Customer Services Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Customer Services Assistant. This is a part-time position working 18.5 hours per week, including every Saturday.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, supporting with book circulation and issuing, and signposting customers to different services. They will also be required to work in other local libraries from time to time to meet the needs of the business.

The Role
  • Provide exceptional customer service to a diverse range of customers
  • Support with book circulation and issuing
  • Signpost customers to different services
  • Work in other local libraries as required
Key Responsibilities
  • First and foremost, you must be passionate about helping people
  • Arrange and conduct Rhymetime sessions for families with babies and toddlers
  • Ensure Health and Safety standards are met
  • Assist with promotional activities to generate income in libraries
  • Help customers use the library catalogue and learn to use the full library offer
  • Ensure seamless stock circulation and management
  • Contribute to data analysis to improve services
  • Unlock and lock up libraries as required
Requirements
  • Possession of a driving licence (desirable)
  • Ability to use IT systems or willingness to learn
  • Customer service experience in any area
  • Confidence in speaking to customers and signposting them to services
  • Enthusiasm and ideas
  • Ability to work within a team
