Job Title: Vendor Negotiation Specialist at Screwfix

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Vendor Negotiation Specialist to join our team at Screwfix, a leading retailer in the UK. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for developing strong business partnerships and driving commercial improvement through effective negotiations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement and Negotiation
    • Support the timely completion of vendor buying agreements to ensure seamless supply chain operations.
    • Utilize management information to drive better outcomes in vendor negotiations, resulting in cost savings and improved relationships.
  • Business Partnership and Collaboration
    • Collaborate with trading and category teams to deliver business objectives and drive commercial growth.
    • Develop negotiation opportunities and best practices to enhance our vendor relationships.
  • Market Intelligence and Analysis
    • Ensure best buying prices through proactive use of market data and analysis.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in buying or commercial roles, preferably in a retail or fast-paced industry.
  • Strong partnership and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with vendors.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving commercial improvement.
  • Team player with strong planning skills, able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with the ability to analyze data and present findings.
