Overview

Screwfix is seeking a highly skilled Commercial Negotiation Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Commercial Operations team, you will play a critical role in developing and maintaining strong business partnerships with our Trading teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and oversee the timely completion of annual vendor buying agreements, ensuring that we secure the best net cost prices from our supplier base.
  • Utilize management information to identify opportunities and improve outcomes in vendor negotiations and vendor management.
  • Develop and maintain best practice approaches to cost and contract negotiations, and vendor management.
  • Collaborate closely with Trading teams to support vendor strategy and drive commercial improvement.
  • Work in partnership with Category teams within Commercial to deliver business and cross-category objectives.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in buying and/or commercial roles, with a strong understanding of multiple negotiation levers and negotiation planning.
  • Strong partnership skills, able to influence, challenge, and support across functions and levels.
  • Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills, able to interpret and analyze data to deliver meaningful value-add insight to key stakeholders.
  • Strong team player who uses initiative and diplomacy when liaising with internal and external customers.
