Director of Pathology Services

North Bristol NHS Trust is seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to lead our Pathology services. As the Director of Care, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and operational management to our Blood Sciences, Cellular Pathology, Infection Sciences, and the South-west Genomics Laboratory Hub.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will have extensive senior leadership and operational management experience, gained within a healthcare provider setting or other large public sector organisation. You will have a proven track record of leading and managing substantial service change and redesign in a complex environment, as well as significant achievement in managing and delivering strategic level projects or workstreams.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the strategic development of Pathology services, ensuring alignment with the Trust's clinical strategy.
- Ensure the Trust is responsive to the commissioning agenda.
- Oversee the development and delivery of safe, efficient, and cost-effective services.
- Lead discussions with commercial and NHS partners to support service delivery.
- Lead service development, ensuring that staff development and customer/patient focus is at the core.
- Work with Pathology network partners to support maturation of the network.
- Represent Pathology services both locally, regionally, and nationally.
