Job Summary
Dr Gilkar & Partner is seeking a skilled and experienced Medical Receptionist to join their team. As a key member of the practice, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the practice.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the practice's appointments system, ensuring accurate and efficient scheduling.
  • Process and respond to patient requests, including face-to-face and telephone inquiries, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Process and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring timely and secure delivery.
  • Provide administrative support to practice staff, including filing, photocopying, and scanning documents.
  • Process repeat prescriptions in accordance with practice guidelines.
  • Initiate contact with patients, other team members, and healthcare agencies to facilitate effective communication and patient care.
  • Maintain a clean and organized reception area, ensuring a welcoming environment for patients and staff.

Requirements
  • Educated to GCSE level standard is essential.
  • Experience of answering telephone calls in a high call volume environment is essential.
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word and keyboard skills, are essential.
  • Verbal communication skills and the ability to deal with people in person and on the telephone are essential.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Educated to A level standard or higher is desirable.
  • Experience of working within an administrative office environment is desirable.
  • SystmOne knowledge is desirable.
