Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Second Line Technician to join our team at Class Technology Solutions Ltd. As a Second Line Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our client's IT systems.

About the Role

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled IT professional to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality IT services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist IT support to ensure high-quality learning facilities are established and maintained.
  • Assist the Network Manager in the successful operation of the site.
  • Assist with the training and up-skilling of CTS staff on site.
  • Mentor colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment.
  • Set up and check hardware and software for normal operation.
  • Build and configure networked PCs, including standalone setups and image deployments.
  • Perform maintenance on user accounts, site servers, and cloud platforms.
  • Ensure Helpdesk tickets are updated and resolved in a timely fashion.
  • Follow standard practices to run network monitoring reports or utilities.
  • Update asset lists of equivalent records for hardware and software on site.
  • Follow processes and tasks described in site disaster recovery and maintenance plans.
  • Carry out checks on systems as guided.
  • Potential to be assigned to project teams during school holidays.
Requirements
  • GCSE Grade 5 or above in Maths and English.
  • A Level, BTEC, NVQ, or T-Level in a relevant subject.
  • Industry qualification within the IT sector, such as Microsoft, Cisco, Aruba, or Apple.
  • 2-3 years of experience in an IT Helpdesk or IT Support environment.
  • Solid understanding of wired and wireless networks and devices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team under pressure.
  • Experience in the education sector is desirable but not essential.
  • Technical troubleshooting and problem management skills.
  • Driving license, as site access may be difficult using public transport.
