About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Medical Secretary to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to a Consultant Cardiologist and/or medical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide typing services for clinics, letters, and other documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Manage the Consultant's diary, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
  • Process referrals, book appointments, and maintain accurate records.
  • Assist with clinic preparation, including setting up equipment and materials.
  • Provide administrative support to the Consultant, including data entry and other tasks as required.
  • Ensure compliance with trust policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.

Requirements

  • Minimum RSA II qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience working as a medical secretary, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Proficient in audio typing and computer literacy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
