About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and self-motivated Medical Secretary to join our team at University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Medical Secretary, you will provide administrative support to a Consultant Cardiologist and/or medical staff, ensuring the smooth operation of the department.
Main Responsibilities
- Provide typing services for clinics, letters, and other documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
- Manage the Consultant's diary, ensuring efficient use of time and resources.
- Process referrals, book appointments, and maintain accurate records.
- Assist with clinic preparation, including setting up equipment and materials.
- Provide administrative support to the Consultant, including preparing reports and presentations.
- Ensure the values of University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust are maintained and practiced on a daily basis, providing a high standard of service to patients.
Requirements
- RSA II minimum or equivalent typing qualification.
- Experience working as a medical secretary, preferably in a hospital setting.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good understanding of secretarial procedures and medical terminology.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
