Importance of the Role

CPI is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to enhance its Project Management Team. This position is crucial for driving significant advancements in the health and sustainability sectors of the pharmaceutical industry.

About the Team

Our Project Management Team has expanded to effectively manage the intricate and varied activities associated with innovative research initiatives and commercially viable projects. We focus on fostering beneficial business relationships while ensuring our personnel are our greatest asset. We prioritize their growth through professional development opportunities, including training for a qualification from the Association of Project Management (APM).

Role Overview

In this capacity, you will assume comprehensive responsibility for multiple external customer projects, each with distinct budgets, timelines, and complexities. Collaborating closely with project delivery teams and technical leads, you will ensure that roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, enabling successful project planning and execution that meets established time, quality, and cost targets.

The National Biologics Manufacturing Centre presents a variety of bioprocessing and manufacturing challenges, including:

  • Accelerating the development of complex medicines and vaccine technologies.
  • Assisting the industry in adopting digital biopharma 4.0 technologies.
  • Partnering with leading academic institutions and industry leaders to foster technological advancements.

Key Responsibilities

As a Project Manager, your primary tasks will include:

  • Overseeing project delivery teams, ensuring clarity in roles and objectives while representing customer interests.
  • Maintaining open and detailed communication with all team members.
  • Managing any deviations from the project plan while ensuring objectives and benefits are met.
  • Proactively identifying project risks and implementing corrective measures as necessary.
  • Motivating the project team and providing clear direction.
  • Executing lessons learned processes to maximize learning opportunities and drive continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications:

Candidates must demonstrate a relevant background in project management, with experience managing multiple projects simultaneously. A degree in Engineering, Science, or a Business-related field is required, along with substantial industry experience.

Strong relationship-building skills across various organizational levels are essential, as is the ability to manage project budgets and control costs effectively.

Desirable Qualifications:

Experience in managing R&D projects in scientific environments is advantageous, as is familiarity with public and private project reporting requirements.
