General Banking Contingent Investigator

Reed Talent Solutions is currently recruiting for a General Banking Contingent Investigator to join our client, the Financial Ombudsman Service. This is a 12-month temporary assignment that will be performed from home in the UK.

The ideal candidate will have experience in resolving complaints and disputes, with a strong understanding of the general banking industry. They will be responsible for investigating both sides of a dispute and making a fair and reasonable decision on the outcome.

The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with outstanding attention to detail. They will also have great written and verbal communication skills, as well as the ability to handle customer enquiries on the telephone.

This role will specialise in General Banking, meaning we are seeking industry specialists in this area. The ideal candidate will have experience in some of the following areas:

  • Bank account closures
  • Bank account: right of set-off
  • Cheques and bankers' drafts
  • Continuous payment authorities
  • Current account switching services
  • Direct debits
  • Dispute transactions
  • Electronic money services for buyers and sellers
  • Savings account interest rate changes

We are looking for candidates who are available to start on 4th November 2024 and have a strong understanding of the general banking industry. The assignment will pay a starting rate of £210 per day (Umbrella) - increasing to £260 after accreditation.

The successful candidate will go through a multi-stage recruitment process before receiving an offer. This includes a telephone interview with Reed, and written assessment/case study, and a competency-based interview with the Service.
