Job Summary

Currie & Brown is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Estimator to join our Infrastructure team. As an Estimator, you will play a critical role in providing accurate cost estimates and supporting the delivery of infrastructure projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain accurate cost estimates for infrastructure projects, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Validate suppliers' and contractors' cost estimates to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Provide efficient tools and processes to enable timely and consistent production of estimates.
  • Prepare estimate reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Support budget development, investment authorization, and cost reconciliation.
Requirements
  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or equivalent.
  • Technical delivery experience in estimating and/or QS services.
  • Extensive experience in the rail, highways, or utilities sector.
  • Pre-contract experience.
  • Understanding of project management, planning, risk, and investment processes.
  • Working knowledge of cost planning techniques for financial control of projects during design development stages.
  • Proficient in unit cost modeling tools.
  • Excellent technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills.
  • Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
